Classes & Lessons
At Planet Swim School we offer 3 types of classes: Group, Semi-private and private classes. Although classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis swimmers are grouped based on age and skill level in the water, according to Planet Swim Learning Curriculum. Our learning curriculum focuses on each student’s development by emphasizing the following:
- The development of water confidence;
- Personal survival skills;
- Life-saving skills;
- The development of basic stroke techniques.
Private Swim Lessons
Private swim lessons are highly recommended for children two and under as well as any children or adults with no prior experience with lessons. Private lessons are a great way to introduce children to the aquatic environment and boost their confidence. Child's development and progression is our number one priority and sometimes a 'One-on-One' with an instructor is all that's needed as some children focus better in a smaller environment. Private classes are also available for adults who never swam, as well as for professional swimmers and high school team members looking for stroke analysis. We work very closely with special needs clients, as well.
Semi-Private Swim Lessons
Semi-private lessons are a great way to start introducing kids to the social aspect of sharing lessons and waiting their turn. This type of a lesson is very suitable for children who are not quite ready for the bigger Group lessons but helps learners to see others as a reference to continue with their progress. Semi-Private lessons also allow adults to share lessons with their peers.
Group Swim Lessons
Group classes are great for further socialization and learning through seeing. Group lessons also introduce swimmers to the Team aspect of the sport as students of all ages can learn a great deal about the sport of Swimming from the people around them.
Our enrollment is based on a monthly basis but regardless of the type of class you wish to enroll in, swimmers will have the option of joining as many classes as you like per week. This allows as much flexibility as possible for your convenience so you have the option to choose the days that work best for your schedule.
Each class is 40 minutes long, and they start as early as 9:45 a.m. Also, please remember that we do offer discounted rates for families wishing to enroll their child in more than one class per week. Enrollment is perpetual, meaning that your spot is yours, with no need to re-enroll, though you can cancel your enrollment once you receive the electronic invoice for the upcoming month.
